The Consumer Advisory Panel

The Consumer Advisory Panel (CAP) is a client-centered, client-driven forum to provide education and promote clients’ empowerment towards activism and self-advocacy.

CAP is dedicated to people living with chronic illnesses to ensure that they voice their opinions and needs and receive the necessary services to promote their well-being.

CAP provides health education by bringing service providers and other healthcare professionals to present on various topics related to improving their health outcomes and/or improving their advocacy.  Clients engage in discussions on issues such as health, legal matters, nutrition and other issues recommended by the clients. For its activism and self-advocacy strategy, clients are strongly encouraged to speak out and express their needs to improve service delivery at Lifelong.

Additionally, the Consumer Advisory Panel also provides opportunity to socialize and have fun.  Attendees can meet acquaintances and develop friendships. Meals are provided at each meeting as a bonus to the informative and vibrant discussions.

CAP meets the last Friday of the month at 1:00 p.m., right after Mama's Dish.  For more information, please call (206) 860-6220 or send us a message.  No registration required.
